I grew up with a ‘spring green’ bedroom, complete with grass-green berber carpet and – I shit you not – ‘apple’ green WOOD PANELLING with faint daisies in slightly darker shades of green.
I hated green for a very long time.
I had that bedroom for 16 years. I had that green for every single day of those 16 years.
I remedied my hatred of greens in my 30’s though, right about the time I learned how to skateboard and realized I disliked the colour red smeared across my skin far more than green.
This green though, I’ve come to love.
This green, the bright, new shade of green when leaves are waking up to the warmth of the sun, this means the rains will stop here. And I am all about rain stopping.
All hail the sun.
